For the past 150 years, St. John’s has been committed to giving their children a Christ centered education. After many of our faithful called workers have retired, I have heard from people in our congregation explain that we are in a transitional period.
Change they say? Yes, I agree. People and staff change in every business and educational institution across the country. For the first 25 years of my ministry. I was able to serve with a faithful pastor of 40 years. Since his retirement, I have witnessed God’s tremendous grace as pastors called by St. John's continue to preach Christ crucified from the pulpit. What a blessing!
Change people say? For the first 25 years of my ministry, I had the privilege of serving with two gifted faculty members who nurtured the young ones and offered guidance to the teenagers. As I enter my 35th year in the teaching ministry, God continues to bless St. John’s with highly qualified and faithful teachers. They spend long hours preparing lessons and modeling Christian living. What a blessing!
Yes, change is all around us. However, one thing does not change. It is God and His Word. Hebrews 13:8 states: Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." He does not shift like a howling wind. St. John’s faculty will continue teaching that beautiful gospel message just as our forefathers did 150 years ago. Yes, the world continues to change, but God and His Word does not. What a blessing!
May God’s Word continue to guide our staff, children, and St. John’s family today and forever. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 What a blessing!
